This is a Best Of collection with two songs of the five recorded by Deltavee band in 1986-7. I listened to them all. These are the best.

In the 80s, I was all about DIY and bypassing the music industry, because Art, Freedom, Carpe Diem ... all that. I wanted to make my own records with my own music and put them out on my own label. I’d not been in a band before and had only the most basic training in music or business, but I wasn’t going to let that stop me.

The label was Vinyl Rekkids and the first project was Deltavee, a band I formed with some college friends who may have later had some concern about what they’d got themselves into. Our one live performance was at a school talent show. No one was quite sure what to make of our rendition of Green Acres to the tune of Purple Haze. The room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. We did not win.

Unfortunately that masterpiece performance was not captured on tape. Instead, you’ve got these two songs recorded in a Music Row studio (whose name I don’t remember, sorry) onto 1-inch, 16-track Ampex 456 tape. These songs are the best of Deltavee.
